ARCHITECT / PERKINS + WILL
CONTRACTOR / SHAWMUT CONSTRUCTION

Designed to provide architectural movement and light play to a lively university atrium, this three story installation utilizes ash wood slats connected via a double bent metal bar lattice and stacked over steel tube to create a series of facets. The design was digitally developed as a parametric model to allow fast reactions to the evolving structural steel design. CW Keller's laser scanner was also utilized to create a 3D model of the as-built structural framing and outriggers which, when embedded into our fabrication model, allowed us to react to the realities of the job site and adjust the geometry and detailing accordingly.
