TEMPLE

LOCATION / HOLLYWOOD, CA
ARCHITECT / KONING EIZENBERG
CONTRACTOR / SIERRA PACIFIC

CW Keller was charged with providing the undulating ceiling element as well as the very ornate doors for this contemporary center.  The ceiling consisted of a series of milled plywood profiles hung from a grid of locator ribs, that allowed for AV and lighting penetration.  The door was a 5-axis milled wall cut from built up solid wood, machined down to form a semi-transparent screen wall.  Temple Israel is located in a dense Hollywood neighborhood anchored by the historically significant sanctuary.  The completed campus for this Reform congregation reflects a contemporary, informal approach to worship and education.
