ARCHITECT / SURFACEDESIGN, INC.
CONTRACTOR / CONRETEWORKS

Developed as a series of "barnacles" outside of Autodesk's innovation hub at Pier 9 in San Francisco, CW Keller worked with the team in developing the shape, texture, and integrated lighting for each of the seating elements.  Then, given the budget limitations, and the emphasis on material re-use, CW Keller designed and built one set of molds out of polyethylene, a plastic that is robust, yet also inherently non-stick, so that all the benches could be cast out of one mold.  Additionally, this mold could be stored indefinitely and used to recast multiple benches should the client desire to.
